I've posted a list of merit badge counselors under the Quick Links section on this blog.
If you ever need to find a counselor, just look at that list. I'll update it when I get a new one.
Thanks

Merit badges we're working on
Here's info about the merit
badges we're working on... If any of you need to borrow some merit
badge books, please let me know.
If your scout has not yet earned any of these merit badges, please help him to get the requirements done.
Citizenship in the Community.
Requirements here: http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Citizenship_in_the_Community
Requirement 1. Please have your scout write this so he can show it to a merit badge counselor.
Requirement 2. If your scout was not at the troop meeting when we did this, then please help your scout do this.
Requirement 3. We did this today (1/22) in our troop meeting.
Requirement
4. I would like to do this as a troop, but I need help finding someone
from a branch of government that could meet with us.
Requirement 5. Please have your scout do this.
Requirement 6. Please have your scout write this so he can show it to a merit badge counselor.
Requirement
7. We are trying to get this done as a troop, but 8 hours is A LOT. If
you can help your scout complete some service hours outside of scouts,
it will really help. If he's also working on the Family Life merit
badge, service projects count for both.
Requirement 8. Please have your scout complete this. If we have time, we can potentially work on this as a troop.
Citizenship in the World:
Requirements here: http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Citizenship_in_the_world
Requirement 1. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but easy to do as homework.
Requirement 2. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
Requirement 3. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
Requirement
4. We did one of these today in our troop meeting. Every scout found
two articles as described. Still need to do one more.
Requirement 5. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
Requirement 6. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
Requirement 6. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
Requirement 7. We'll try to get this done as a troop, but it would be best to do as homework.
For any other merit badge requirements, please find the requirements at meritbadge.org.

Scouts this week and next
Scouts this week on TUESDAY, 6pm at Redlands Family Servives. NOT at the church.
Meet at 6pm at Redlands Family Services 612 Lawton St, Redlands, CA 92374
We will be meeting the volunteer director, to get oriented to service opportunities there.
I think we will be done by 7pm. Parents please plan to pick up your scouts from Redlands Family Services at 7.
We will likely go here several times for service in the next couple months since all scouts working on Citizenship in the Community need 8 hours of service. For everyone, this will also count toward rank advancement service hours.

Next week:
Scout troop meeting normal time and place, Wednesday 7-8:30 pm at the church.
Agenda:
Continue Personal Fitness merit badge
Five scouts are finishing First Aid from last summer.
Troop 31 will be doing Boards of Review.

Scouts this week on THURS
Our troop activity this week will be on Thursday at the church, any time from 2:30pm to 8pm, come for as much or as little as you can. I'll be there about 5:30 to 8pm
"Why?" A convenient (and meaningful) opportunity to do some service as a troop is available this Thursday.
"Okay, but why now?"
1. We just started the "citizenship in the community" merit badge, which requires 8 hours of service for a charitable organization in our community.
2. It's nice to do some service as a scout troop, especially at Christmastime.
3. Each rank advancement requires 6 hours of service, so it can count for that too.
What organization are we helping? "Women of Faith Redlands" - an interfaith, humanitarian service organization here in Redlands. Volunteers meet every 2nd Thursday at our Church Building to work on humanitarian projects.
Who? Anyone. You can drop off your scout, or join him. Bring the whole family if you want.
Where? At the church, in the gym.
When? This Thursday, any time between 2:30pm and 8pm, come for as long or as little as you can. I'll plan to be there from about 5:30pm to 8pm.
*IMPORTANT*
In order to finish the merit badge in time for the 2nd Scout Saturday in March, your scout will need to attend for an average of 2.7 hours for 3 times (every 2nd Thursday for Dec, Jan, and Feb).
**If he cannot attend enough on those days, and you want him to finish enough hours for the merit badge, please work independently to complete more hours for this and/or another charitable organization to finish enough hours.
Thanks
